Matthew 19: 21-24
“ Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. ”
Message 69:10
“Let the servants be humble and prayerful and the mysteries of the Kingdom shall unfold before you. Fear not those who depart from you—they are as clouds without water—empty vessels—tossed about in doubt and fears. But fear the Lord insomuch that obedience is your answer. Let peace fill each heart, and in your gatherings, that the Spirit of God shall make you free. It is Christ your Savior whom you must serve and obey. His words shall judge all in the last day, and great is his reward to the faithful when he comes, but dreadful to the wicked at his appearing.”
As we interact with people in our daily lives, it can hard for us not to worry about what they think. We should not worry about it. People might try to scare us out of belief in Christ, but we have to remember that Christ is our savior, not someone elses opinions. God will always be our strength, and we will receive his peace we we follow him. Don’t let the empty vessels of the world scare us out of our salvation.
Matthew 5:10-12
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
As we live our lives and the world sees our beliefs, there will be people who will try to destroy us because of it. Jesus said that we will be blessed when this happens. This does not mean that it will be fun, but that God will bless us and we will receive our reward in the end. It is our duty and mission to stand up for what we believe, we don’t want to be like Peter and shy away from God when times get tough.
Message 39:16
“Be careful what you say, how you speak, and where you are. You will see evil and deception. While the good is at work the powers from beneath will be there also, but watch and pray, for the time comes when they shall not hurt nor destroy in all the Lord’s holy mount. Righteousness and justice shall rule.”
Keeping with the theme from the last several posts, todays verse lets us know that two major things. First, we have to watch ourselves and our actions. It is important that we always represent God in what we do and say. Second, the Devil will be out and about trying to destroy God’s people. There will be evil and deception up to the last days. In fact, most people will fall for the deception of the world instead of believing the true gospel of Christ. Let us pray everyday so that we are not fooled by the Devil.
2nd Timothy 3:11-12
“Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
When we believe in Christ, people think that our lives will be easy. In fact it is just the opposite. When we are strong in Christ, the Devil will try harder lead us away. When we are not following Christ, the Devil does not have to work very hard to keep us apart from Christ. When we go though these trials and tribulations, we have to stay strong in our faith and our walk with God. God will help us though the tough times. God is merciful, but he is also just.
No verse today, just me. I just want to talk about how we present ourselves to others. I have meet several people in my life time who have said that they are strong believers in Christ. But as I watch how they live their lives, they tell a different story. It is important that we really pay attention on our actions and words. People are always judging us and our character. If we are going to tell people how great God is and that we believe in Christ and his teachings, we can’t go around and have our words and actions contradict that belief. There are things in our everyday lives that make small impressions on people. The main underlying topic that Christ taught us was that love is the basic rule of the Kingdom of God. If we don’t love everyone, including ourselves, how can we expect to reach the Kingdom. We don’t have to go out and hug everyone in the street, but spreading hatred doing things that is against the teachings or Christ will not help us in our walk with God. So today I challenge to love everyone, even if the are you enemy, and walk in his footsteps, because that is what Christ told us to do
Message 57:10
“Behold, there is much yet to be done and much to be revealed to the coming to pass of much of the gathering of the houses of Israel. They shall know the Lord is their God. The promises shall be fulfilled and the record shall be known for it shall come in the Lord’s planning. Be true to your calling, be humble in spirit, be at peace for Satan shall not destroy the Lord’s work. The Church of Christ shall continue on until the Christ shall come, the temple built and the gathering complete. The gospel shall go to all nations, therefore I have come to bring the authority and it has been among men. The greater power shall be given as you prepare for it. Be not deceived by man for I am the Elias which was for to come.”
Even in the Messages, John talks about how God plan and that promises are going to come true. I think that most people today don’t think that Christ will come back in there life time, so they don’t worry about it. If you ask people they will say they believe, but when you watch how they live there lives, they don’t. It is important that we prepare ourselves for the second coming. Because we don’t know when it will happen, and we never know when our time might be up. Every day people die unexpectedly, our soul needs to be in order if that should happen. If not they we need to thank the Lord for another day.
2nd Thessalonians 2:1-4
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. ”
Before the second coming of Christ happens, there has to be several things happen first. Most people don’t know what those are and they are not looking for them. Before Christ comes back, Paul talks about what has to happen, he says that there has to be “falling away first.” You can see this falling away in todays world. There are thousands of different churches in the worlds today, and only one can be correct. In our search of Christ, we have to make sure that what we believe is the same that Jesus taught. We can not allow people to make our minds up for us. Our salvation is that, ours, and only we can secure it.
Message 50:13
“Storms and earthquakes shall come and the nations must know the Lord is God.”
It is important that when major storms and acts of nature happen, it is not God punishing the people who live in the disaster area. It is God’s way on reminding the world that he is still in charge. The message prophesied about the what we will see as the second coming of Christ gets closer. This is not a time to curse God, but to seek him out and find the truth. When we are week, he is strong.
Matthew 22:36-40
“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
As we watch on the new this last week about the earthquake in Haiti, it is important for us remember that it is our responsibility as believers in Christ to Love and care for other people. When major events like this happen, it is important to show that love, but it is also important to show it in our daily lives with the people that are close to us. It is good for us to do our part in helping the ones that are less fortunate in this time of need, but we need to remember that there are people who are less close to come as well. Our love for God and our love other people is the key relationship with God.

Message 91:2
“I am your fellow servant and my name is John. I am resurrected—I was resurrected when Christ arose from the tomb. I am the Elias, the Messenger of the Lord. I am his forerunner. I have come in the past. I have spoken his will and I shall come in the future. I come at his appointing. My message is one of love to those that heed and obey it.”
If you are still wondering how John the Baptist could come today when he died so many years ago, this verse answers that questions. When Christ arose form the tomb, the saint of old who died in favor of God rose with him into heaven. Like is so many other messages, John tell us that his is a work of Love and that he is doing the Lords bidding. It is important to realize that John is just like you and me in the since that we are all trying to work for the Lord and obey his word.
Message 67:1
“Arise and take the message I will give you. Behold, I am your fellow servant and my name is John. I am he to appear before the great and dreadful day of the Lord. I come from his presence. I am the Elias. I am he who sits as a refiner and purifier, that the sins of men may be no more, that a people may be prepared.”
Once again John tells us his job and that he is the Elias that was to come. His job is to refine and purify mankind. We know from Malachi that God will send his messenger to do just what John is doing.
Message 39:4
“I am the Elias which was for to come. I am John the Baptist, the Messenger of the Lord. The earth shall be filled with the light that I bring and have brought from the Lord God. Will the people heed it, that their feet might be guided in the way of peace and be led out of darkness and contention and away from the shadow of death?”
In this verse John is telling us the prophecy that he is fulfilling. Also John is asking the people of the land if we will listen to him or stay in our darkness that we are in. Most people don’t realize the darkness that surrounds our lives and beliefs until we see the true light of Christ in his full gospel
Message 7&8: 12
“I am John, the Messenger, sent from God to prepare the way as in the day when Christ was here. Behold, my work has just begun; for the works of Satan must be destroyed. For that work came I into the world, that I may prepare the way that Christ may destroy the works of Satan”
In the next few days we will look at several places in the Message book where John tell us who he is and why he is coming to earth. In this verse, John says that his work has just begun, and that Satan must be destroyed. As we have already read, we know that the Messenger will prepare the way before Christ so that he can destroy Satan
Revelation 10: 1-11
“And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”
When people hear about the message that John is bringing from Christ, they will rejoice and be happy that God is sending his messenger as promised. It will be “sweet as honey” to the people. Once the people read it however it will become bitter. Not because the word of God is bitter, but because the people will realize their sins. There will be lots of people who do not accept the message because of they will not want to change from their ways. The traditions of men can be very comforting, but they are not the way of salvation.

3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. ‘He who guards his lips guards his soul.’ Proverbs 13:3
4. Stand Up!!… For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. ‘Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good…’ Galatians 6:9-10
5. Look Up!!… To the Lord.
‘I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.’ Phillippians 4:13
6. Reach Up!!… For something higher. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path.’
Proverbs 3:5-6
7. Lift Up!!… Your Prayers.
‘Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING.’
Philippians 4:6
