Message 91:18

See those that think themselves to be great, seeking prominency, moreover seeking the praise of mankind. Their works do show their nothingness and will not endure the sword of truth and justice.

We have to be humble in our works and our words. Christ does not want us to brag or show off our accomplishments. He wants us to be obedient servants who each do our own tasks.

Hebrews 6:1-3

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.

This is the basic gospel of Christ. The process starts with repentance, followed by baptism, laying on the hands for confirmation. If you do this and live the Christ want you too, when the time is right resurrection and eternal life with Christ follows. Have you done all the steps in order?

Message 91:34-35

The conditions of the world will grow worse and worse until you will think there is no peace anywhere—save in the hearts of the faithful.  My work is to bring all Christendom together into one fold, to one Shepherd and plan of eternity with God. Let my message go to the pastors and them that lead and all that seek truth.

The message that John brings is one directly from God. He has his mission of instructing us on how to implement God’s plan. One aspect of this plan is only having one Church of Christ. People will have to chose Christ’s Church or one created by man. I know which one I want to be a part of, how about you?

Luke 10:2

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

The Lord is going to do a great work. There might be only a few people now working for the Lord in his church, but they will multiply and be strengthened by the Lord. Will you be one of the laborers?

Message 106:27

The Lord hath power to do all things which is according to his word.

Nothing is out of reach or the Lord. The only question is are we going to limit him?

Alma 55:30-31

And many times did they attempt to administer of their wine to the Nephites, that they might destroy them with poison or with drunkenness. But behold, the Nephites were not slow to remember the Lord their God in this their times of affliction. They could not be taken in their snares; yea, they would not partake of their wine, yea, they would not take of wine, save they had firstly given to some of the Lamanite prisoners.

If we remember Christ and follow his sprit we will also be protected like the Nephites were. Christ always gives us what we need and never gives us more than we can handle. He will also lead us out of trouble if we listen. Will you listen?

Mark 1:14-15

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Now is the time. Will you do what Jesus said and repent and believe the gospel?

Message 106:25

The Lord does not change his mind or plans, and is no respecter of persons. He will not forget his promises, nor will he alter his standard or ways of values, but merciful and longsuffering. He would that none ignore his laws forever. Yea, not even his chosen people—lo, the work is not yet finished. His message is valid today as when it was first uttered.

God does not change. His word does not change. His actions will not change. We have to change to fit him. Will you change?

Galations 5:22-26

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Let the Christ show through you. This is done by the fruits of the sprit. We can’t just talk about having these fruits, but have to actually have them in our actions.

Alma 24:7-10

Now, these are the words which he said unto the people concerning the matter: I thank my God, my beloved people, that our great God has in goodness sent these our brethren, the Nephites, unto us to preach unto us, and to convince us of the traditions of our wicked fathers. And behold, I thank my great God that he has given us a portion of his Spirit to soften our hearts, that we have opened a correspondence with these brethren, the Nephites. And behold, I also thank my God, that by opening this correspondence we have been convinced of our sins, and of the many murders which we have committed. And I also thank my God, yea, my great God, that he hath granted unto us that we might repent of these things, and also that he hath forgiven us of those our many sins and murders which we have committed, and took away the guilt from our hearts, through the merits of his Son.

I hope that there will several people in our near future that has comments similar to this. The joy that people have when they find Christ is amazing to see. I can’t for the multitudes to come into the truth and be washed clean.

Mark 12:28-34

And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

Love is the basics of everything. If we love god and love each other we will enjoy God’s blessings. People get caught up with rules and traditions and they forget all they have to do it love. Love is following Christ’s teachings, being kinds to all of mankind, and putting you last. Love is basic.

Message 91:27

They that are filled with bitterness and contempt, charity hath no hold on them.

Don’t be filled with bitterness and contempt. If you are you are not capable of love. To be full of God’s love we cannot have bitterness or contempt.

Message 91:3-5

My mission is, that the Church may be fully prepared at the Lord’s coming. I come to prepare a people, the Lord’s bride. Yea, let all hear what the Lord has commanded me to say. I have brought the authority of the holy priesthood and reiterated and affirmed it. Will you keep it sacred, that the work of God may be accomplished and salvation comes to the humble, those that are full of love and obey the will of the Lord? Fear not, for this is the Lord’s work. I have come to you. I have called other servants to help in this work, though they be few—yet a great work can be done. For the Lord of the vineyard shall labor also, that the work might be done, for it must go on in haste.

John’s mission is to help us prepare for the second coming of Christ. We all know that Christ will return some day. It is up to us to be ready. If we are able to work, God will help us accomplish what we need. We must all prepare ourselves and work in preparing each other.

5-7

The message and authority that I bring is the pure love of God, the priesthood after the order of God: the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Creator of all things, even the Lord Jesus Christ. I am John the Baptist, the Elias which is for to come to bring the Elijah Message. There cometh a day when the open door before you will close. Are you ready for the consummation of all things; bringing in the Lord’s jewels, his elect ones—the honest of heart—making ready the bride of Christ, his Church, his Zion?

These three verses are a very clear warning. First John is bringing the authority and love that can only come from God. Second John reiterates who he is and why he is coming. Third he tells us that time is running out for us to decide on who we are going to choose. That being said who are you going to choose to follow Christ or devil?

Message 64:4

The Lord has looked upon his Church to bless the faithful. Some have denied the Lord and his goodness; some are full of doubt and are deprived of the joys of the Lord. Some will repent, others will go to destruction.

If we follow Christ’s words we will be blessed. If we don’t, life will be empty. The joy that comes from following Christ is better than the feeling that we get from the things of this world. Will you follow Christ or will you be empty?

Message 89:5

Read and study the words I bring. Shape your lives by what I bring, for this is the assured way.

We are told to keep reading the words the Lord has sent us. We need to live by these words. Christ has given us blueprint on how to live our lives. We should do our best to follow it.

1 Corinthians 12:1-31

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

We are all a part of the larger body. We are no more important or less important than any other part. Each person plays a role in the Church. Yes there might be someone that has more responsibility, but that person is not more important. We have to every part working in unison to be a complete healthy body.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Love is everything. Without love there is nothing. It does not matter what you do, if you don’t have love it means nothing. Love is the key. Paul uses all kinds of words to describe love: long suffering, kind, envieth not, vaunteth not itself, not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things ,and never faileth. Love is all these things. It is complex and simple all at the same time. Love is everything.

Message 73:6

The Lord knoweth the hearts of mankind and wherein they desire to learn and do his will, it shall be like precious ointment poured out upon the faithful to dwell in this light of life and salvation. For unto them, shall be great joy, that which the mind of man has not yet attained to.

If we are looking for the Lord we will find him. When we find him we will receive his blessings. The peace and joy that comes from the Lord  is comforting.

Acts 10:9-16

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Christ did away with the old law. This includes many traditions. When we follow Christ we don’t have to follow the old law or manmade traditions. We only have to follow the teachings of Christ and the word that he has given to us.
