Alma 21:1-12

Now when Ammon and his brethren separated themselves in the borders of the land of the Lamanites, behold Aaron took his journey towards the land which was called by the Lamanites, Jerusalem, calling it after the land of their fathers’ nativity; and it was away joining the borders of Mormon. Now the Lamanites and the Amalekites and the people of Amulon had built a great city, which was called Jerusalem. Now the Lamanites of themselves were sufficiently hardened, but the Amalekites and the Amulonites were still harder; therefore they did cause the Lamanites that they should harden their hearts, that they should wax stronger in wickedness and their abominations. And it came to pass that Aaron came to the city of Jerusalem, and firstly began to preach to the Amalekites. And he began to preach to them in their synagogues, for they had built synagogues after the order of the Nehors; for many of the Amalekites and the Amulonites were after the order of the Nehors. Therefore, as Aaron entered into one of their synagogues to preach unto the people, and as he was speaking unto them, behold there arose an Amalekite and began to contend with him, saying: What is that that thou hast testified? Hast thou seen an angel? Why do not angels appear unto us? Behold art not this people as good as thy people? Thou also sayest, except we repent we shall perish. How knowest thou the thought and intent of our heart? How knowest thou that we have cause to repent? How knowest thou that we are not a righteous people? Behold, we have built sanctuaries, and we do assemble ourselves together to worship God. We do believe that God will save all men. Now Aaron said unto him: Believest thou that the Son of God shall come to redeem mankind from their sins? And the man saith unto him: We do not believe that thou knowest any such thing. We do not believe in these foolish traditions. We do not believe that thou knowest of things to come, neither do we believe that thy fathers and also that our fathers did know concerning the things which they spake, of that which is to come. Now Aaron began to open the scriptures unto them concerning the coming of Christ, and also concerning the resurrection of the dead, and that there could be no redemption for mankind save it were through the death and sufferings of Christ, and the atonement of his blood. And it came to pass that as he began to expound these things unto them they were angry with him, and began to mock him; and they would not hear the words which he spake. Therefore, when he saw that they would not hear his words, he departed out of the synagogue, and came over to a village which was called Ani-anti, and there he found Muloki a preaching the word unto them; and also Ammah and his brethren. And they contended with many about the word. And it came to pass that they saw that the people would harden their hearts, therefore they departed and came over into the land of Middoni. And they did preach the word unto many, and few believed on the words which they taught.

Don’t be like the Amalekites. The Amalekites were so deep into their own tradition that they would not hear the world of God. Even with Ammon used scripture they would not believe. You do not want to be one of the non believers with Christ comes back. All the information is there for you to study, the question is will you listen?

Alma 19:1-13

And it came to pass that after two days and two nights they were about to take his body and lay it in a sepulcher, which they had made for the purpose of burying their dead. Now the queen having heard of the fame of Ammon, therefore she sent and desired that he should come in unto her. And it came to pass that Ammon did as he was commanded, and went in unto the queen, and desired to know what she would that he should do. And she saith unto him: The servants of my husband have made it known unto me that thou art a prophet of a Holy God, and that thou hast power to do many mighty works in his name; Therefore, if this is the case, I would that ye should go in and see my husband, for he has been laid upon his bed for the space of two days and two nights; and some say that he is not dead, but others say that he is dead and that he stinketh, and that he ought to be placed in the sepulcher; but as for myself, to me he doth not stink. Now, this was what Ammon desired, for he knew that king Lamoni was under the power of God; he knew that the dark veil of unbelief being cast away from his mind, and the light which did light up his mind, which was the light of the glory of God, which was a marvelous light of his goodness—yea, this light had infused such joy into his soul, the cloud of darkness having been dispelled, and the light of everlasting light was lit up in his soul, yea, he knew that this had overcame his natural frame, and he was carried away in God— Therefore, what the queen desired of him was his only desire. Therefore, he went in to see the king according as the queen had desired him; and he saw the king, and he knew that he was not dead. And he saith unto the queen: He is not dead, but he sleepeth in God, and on the morrow he shall rise again; therefore bury him not. And Ammon saith unto her: Believest thou this? And she said unto him: I have had no witness save thy word, and the word of our servants; nevertheless I believe that it shall be according as thou hast said. And Ammon said unto her: Blessed art thou because of thy exceeding faith; I say unto thee, woman, there has not been such great faith among all the people of the Nephites.  And it came to pass that she watched over the bed of her husband, from that time even until that time on the morrow which Ammon had appointed that he should rise. And it came to pass that he arose, according to the words of Ammon; and as he arose, he stretched forth his hand unto the woman, and said: Blessed be the name of God, and blessed art thou. For as sure as thou livest, behold, I have seen my Redeemer; and he shall come forth, and be born of a woman, and he shall redeem all mankind who believe on his name. Now, when he had said these words, his heart was swollen within him, and he sunk again with joy; and the queen also sunk down, being overpowered by the Spirit.

Faith is a powerful thing. It only takes a small amount to see great benefits. Miracles also are a great tool of God. People from around the world see miracles as proof of God’s love. Will you have faith in God and believe in Christ’s gospel?

From Bro. Norm

The Book of Numbers 21:14, reads, “wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the Lord, what he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon”. And it continued in verse 16 saying, “ And form thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the Lord spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give.
Two interesting things stand out in these verses. One of them is “The Book of the Wars of the Lord”, mentioned in verse 14. It is a book mentioned in the Bible and yet nowhere in the Bible can we discover the Book called The Wars of the Lord. Secondly we find the Lord saying, “I will give them water”.
There are 17 books refered to in the Bible (a collection of books), that we are told to refer to and read, but simply are missing. Where are they? Then we also can note that the Lord is promising to give us water. The water is the water of life which is also refered to in Revelation 22:1-2. It is an everlasting water, which flows from the throne of God and gives us eternal life, however as the missing books of the Bible: do we find ourselves missing out of God’s Plan, because we are not partaking in the Living Water of God? The Water is free and the reward is eternal life. We simply need to be with Him and partake of Him to receive it. Are we absent from the Living water or are we there with eager hearts and souls?

Message 38:2

Therefore, thus saith the Lord your God to the humble, the honest in heart, to those that seek for truth and righteousness: Come out of her lest ye suffer with the ungodly, and partake of her punishment; for my wrath is against the ungodly, against the liars and hypocrites and those that count my commandments as naught. I have sent the destroyer and devourer in the land, and I will punish the nations and the inhabitants of the earth, that they may become humble and inquire about me and my commandments.

God is not going to punish the people that follow him. God is going to punish the people that pretend to follow him.  God does not care how much we disobey him, that we disobey is enough.  Let us each study and find the truth in the words that we have and follow it.  Remember each person is on their own and we can’t take mans word for any thing.

Revelation 10:9-10

“And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.”

We people hear about this message, many will be joyful but that joy will not last long.  When people read and understand the message they will not like what it says.  This is because the message speaks God’s unaltered truth.  Most of mankind have been living with mans ideas interwoven in God’s teachings.  When people learn that their beliefs are not of God, they will have a choice.  Change to follow God’s true message or believe what they want and not follow God.  A lot of people would rather believe what they want instead of following God’s truth.

Message 96:11

“You see those that are filled with selfishness and bitterness; some you call your friends are seeking to destroy you and the good works you have established. Be firm and your works will stand the test. Fear not what men may say of you and those that are with you. You were born for this cause. Many will follow in this way. Deliverance will be for the faithful.”

Just like yesterday, we have to be strong in our beliefs, no matter who or what affects our lives. We can not let others change what we believe just so we can fit in or agree with  others.  We have to stand on our own beliefs.  We never know who will be working with or against us.  We must be watchful.

Psams 133: -3

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”

As we walk though our life we meet people from all walks of life.  It is imporatnt that we truly love each person and treat them like the family that they are. The people that surround us help us get though our challenges. They give us support and comfort.  With our family though, we have to be united in our love of God.  It is important that we all believe the same core values. We need to surround ourselves with people of the same beliefs.
