2 Timothy 3:1-7

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

There will be so much evil in the world that it will be hard to find the good in the world. We are at that place today. Evil is around us everywhere. We must find the truth in the word. We cannot use our friends, our traditions, or our wants to decide what is right. We must only use the word of God.

Message 57:2-3

The Lord your God wants a holy people, those that will humble themselves before him. He know the hearts of all and their desires. He knows your weakness and faith. Satan also knows the weakness of man and he has sought to destroy. Remember I told you that he has sought to have you. Many the Lord has called have failed. Let it not be so with you. The Lord has heard your prayers and repentance—be watchful unto prayer always, for there are those that rejoice because of offence and desire to overthrow you. The evil has come upon them. Some seek to destroy you and the message I bring, but they destroy themselves for the words I bring are from the Lord and will have their place. There are many that love the truth.

Have you strayed away from the Lord? We all have done things that take us away from our loving God, but we must return to him. We must keep the truth in our lives and not allow the Devil to pull us away. God wants us to remain faithful, not fall away.

Message 67:3

The time is short—the conflict in battle of the adversary has destroyed many but God will deliver and righteousness shall prevail—but let the evil be destroyed root and branch.

God promises us that he will destroy the evil, root and all. Things are going to be very difficult and some of us are going to have to suffer, but God will win in the end. The time is getting closer and closer to the end, let us all stay the course.

Matthew 2:1-15

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

When the wise men came to worship Jesus, they were doing it for the right reasons. When they told Herod about it though, he wanted to see Jesus for the wrong reasons. Even though Herod said he wanted to worship Jesus, he really wanted to kill him. The same can be said about people today. There are many people who claim to worship Christ, but their true thoughts are based in evil. We need to be like the wise men and follow God and avoid these people in our daily lives.

1 John 3:8

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Christ was sent to earth to destroy the Devil.  It is not our responsibility to beat the Devil, it is our responsibility to follow God and spread his good news.  If we do this, God can use us in the fight against the Devil. Remember we are tools of God and he will win.  Let us all fight together on the same side against the evil.

Message 38:2

Therefore, thus saith the Lord your God to the humble, the honest in heart, to those that seek for truth and righteousness: Come out of her lest ye suffer with the ungodly, and partake of her punishment; for my wrath is against the ungodly, against the liars and hypocrites and those that count my commandments as naught. I have sent the destroyer and devourer in the land, and I will punish the nations and the inhabitants of the earth, that they may become humble and inquire about me and my commandments.

God is not going to punish the people that follow him. God is going to punish the people that pretend to follow him.  God does not care how much we disobey him, that we disobey is enough.  Let us each study and find the truth in the words that we have and follow it.  Remember each person is on their own and we can’t take mans word for any thing.

Message 107:2-3

“The hearts that are humble will hear the call of God to be up and doing in this work of hope and salvation. There is much to be accomplished. The power of the adversary has enthroned his influence in the minds of many, ruining the lives of those that will not learn truth and come to doctrine.”

The Devil will work very hard to pull as many people away from God as he can.  It is up to us to not listen to his whisperings, with the help of God. Those that are humble and obey God will be blessed for the work that they will do.  The more work we do for God with humility, the more blessed we will become.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. ”

In our search for the truth, we must be careful of who we listen to.  There are many people who are doing their best to follow God, but if someone’s actions or words do not follow the teachings of God, we must not listen to them.  There will be many people who say they are following God and doing his work, but if listen and watch closely, they are not preaching the word of God.  Only follow a man as long as he follows God. If a person that you looked up to turns from God and starts to wonder away, you need to stop listing to them.  I know it is hard, but it is better to lose that person then you salvation.

Message 16:8

“If you shall remain humble, these things shall be given to you from time to time. Take not the advice of men, for men’s hearts are filled with evil, they will lead you astray. Send the messages to the world, and those that labor with you will be blessed. Amen.”

Being humble is one of the keys to following God.  If we let pride and men that are fulled with evil  influence our walk with God it will not be a successful walk. We have to be careful to make sure we follow the true teachings of God and not take his blessing for granted.  The power of God is great, but he can take it way in time he wants too.

Moroni 7

“Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil; for the devil is an enemy unto God, and fighteth against him continually, and inviteth and enticeth to sin, and to do that which is evil continually. But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.”

Good things come from God.  Let us look for God in our daily lives.  I know that there is always good in our lives that God has given us.  It might be as simple as a smile or as large as healing, but God is everywhere.  But so is the devil.  Evil will fight the good, so lets pray to God to give us strength to find he good and leave the evil.

1st Peter 8-11

“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.”

Love and kindness. It is hard to show that in every situation, but that is what we are supposed to do.  Revenge, paybacks, and bickering is not the way God wants us to live.  Let us try to be full of peace and love in every thing we do.

Message 5:3

“Remember, Satan, in times past, has led men away from the teachings of Christ and his Church, but let it not be so with you. Others have been led away by adultery because of following the whisperings of Satan, but let it not be so with you. Some have been led by pride and the love of the praise of men, but let it not be so with you. All these things and many more come from the whisperings of Satan. Let not your hearts be tempted neither by the praise of men or by the love of money, because it will rob you of the Spirit and goodness of God.”

Our strength in Christ is important part of our daily lives.  It is important for us to lean on him to get us though our lives.  Satan will try every thing in his power to lead us away from him.  The spirit of God will leave us if we follow the Devil.  Things that he does to lead us away might seam like small things a first, but they will lead you way from God.  The thoughts of men can be a dangerous thing.  I hope that you are able to keep the Devil at bay and stay keep Gods spirit close to you.  You will be blessed if you do.

Message 39:16

“Be careful what you say, how you speak, and where you are. You will see evil and deception. While the good is at work the powers from beneath will be there also, but watch and pray, for the time comes when they shall not hurt nor destroy in all the Lord’s holy mount. Righteousness and justice shall rule.”

Keeping with the theme from the last several posts, todays verse lets us know that two major things.  First, we have to watch ourselves and our actions.  It is important that we always represent God in what we do and say. Second, the Devil will be out and about trying to destroy God’s people.  There will be evil and deception up to the last days.  In fact, most people will fall for the deception of the world instead of believing the true gospel of Christ.  Let us pray everyday so that we are not fooled by the Devil.

Moroni 7:46-48

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of  all, for all things must fail – But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with the.  Wherefore, my beloved brethren pray unto the Father with all the Energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure.”

God’s love that he pours down on us allows us to become more like Christ.  When God’s loves is in us we are able to do things that others just dream about.  We also know that when the end is near, we will be ready to meet Christ when he returns.  This love of God’s will not fail us, it will not go away, it will not turn into evil, it will not deceive us, and it will not lead us astray.  God’s love is pure and holy.  Let’s try to show God’s love today.
