Message 91:18

See those that think themselves to be great, seeking prominency, moreover seeking the praise of mankind. Their works do show their nothingness and will not endure the sword of truth and justice.

We have to be humble in our works and our words. Christ does not want us to brag or show off our accomplishments. He wants us to be obedient servants who each do our own tasks.

Alma 25:2-5

And now, I ask, what great blessings hath he bestowed upon us? Can ye tell? Behold, I answer for you; for our brethren, the Lamanites, were in darkness, yea, even in the darkest abyss, but behold, how many of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work. Behold, thousands of them do rejoice, and have been brought into the fold of God. Behold, the field was ripe, and blessed are ye, for ye did thrust in the sickle, and did reap with your mights, yea, all the day long did ye labor; and behold the number of your sheaves! And they shall be gathered into the garners, that they are not wasted.

Let us be the tools of God. There needs to be a great work done and someone has to do it. Are you going to prepare yourself to be the tool that God uses for the harvest? We have the instructions located in The Bible, The Record of the Nephites, an The Word of the Lord. We you follow them?

Colossians 3:13-17

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

In everything that we do, we are supposed to have Christ be a part of it. This includes our daily lives and actions. We need to give God the glory with good things happen and ask for help when times are tuff. If we do this, then the world cannot deny that we are Christ’s.

Alma 21:5-10

Therefore, as Aaron entered into one of their synagogues to preach unto the people, and as he was speaking unto them, behold there arose an Amalekite and began to contend with him, saying: What is that that thou hast testified? Hast thou seen an angel? Why do not angels appear unto us? Behold art not this people as good as thy people? Thou also sayest, except we repent we shall perish. How knowest thou the thought and intent of our heart? How knowest thou that we have cause to repent? How knowest thou that we are not a righteous people? Behold, we have built sanctuaries, and we do assemble ourselves together to worship God. We do believe that God will save all men. Now Aaron said unto him: Believest thou that the Son of God shall come to redeem mankind from their sins? And the man saith unto him: We do not believe that thou knowest any such thing. We do not believe in these foolish traditions. We do not believe that thou knowest of things to come, neither do we believe that thy fathers and also that our fathers did know concerning the things which they spake, of that which is to come. Now Aaron began to open the scriptures unto them concerning the coming of Christ, and also concerning the resurrection of the dead, and that there could be no redemption for mankind save it were through the death and sufferings of Christ, and the atonement of his blood. And it came to pass that as he began to expound these things unto them they were angry with him, and began to mock him; and they would not hear the words which he spake.

When we go out to spread the word of God it is important for us to remember that if people do not listen, it is God that they are rejecting not us. There will be people that will fight and try to harm us from doing the lord’s work.  The devil has hardened the hearts of the people so that they will not list, even when scriptures are used. It is easier to keep believing the same traditions as it is to believe the truth, even though most can’t explain those beliefs. We have to have faith in God that he will water our seed and protect us when we are doing his work. There will be many people who don’t like the truth, but we still have to tell it to them.

“Take the message I shall give you. Give it to the Brethren of the Church.” –Message 119:1

Commandments come in many forms. Some are so subtle that we have difficulty telling if it is a suggestion or a commandment; while others are bold and seem to jump of the page at us. Many times the Lord speaks to each of us and at first it seems so subtle, but firm and with great resolve. Christ spoke to Judas Iscariot in John 13:27 and said, “that thou doest, do quickly”. It was very firm and with great resolve. He could have sent Judas Iscariot out banished and ashamed. Instead Christ had him at the final supper as one of the Brethren and simply commanded him to go do what he had planned. The word said none were aware, except Judas and Jesus, that Judas was going to betray the Lord. His words were indeed firm, yet even as Christ was betrayed, Christ sent him out with dignity. Jesus also said to give the message to the Brethren, knowing full well that some would betray the Lord even as Judas Iscariot. The Lord still called them Brethren right up to end of their Ministry when they choose to betray the Lord.

1 John 3:8

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Christ was sent to earth to destroy the Devil.  It is not our responsibility to beat the Devil, it is our responsibility to follow God and spread his good news.  If we do this, God can use us in the fight against the Devil. Remember we are tools of God and he will win.  Let us all fight together on the same side against the evil.

Ecclesiastes 9:10, tells us, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, no device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

Most of us trudge along in our lives and at times we even feel weary of what constitutes our life. It is easy to become complacent and more or less just go with the flow. This is also true of our walk with God. We sometimes find ourselves content to be happy and allow others to do and to labor. We let the choir sing and we just find joy in listening. While there is a lot to be said with contentment in where we are at: the Lord said to labor while yet there is day. Christ desires we not be lukewarm. Where are you at today?

Luke 12:22-23

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body [is more] than raiment.

When we do the Lords work we don’t have to worry about things. He will always take care of us. How has God helped take care you in your life?

From Bro. Norm

I sometimes find myself a bit captured in my thinking when I consider the event in the Word of God; that nobody seems to address much in teaching or preaching. The Lord Jesus Christ had been resurrected and had appeared unto many of the believers and had been upon the earth for a period of time and then we find he ascended into heaven. Perhaps you have never thought of it, but what if he did not ascend into heaven?  Why not stay on earth? He had defeated death, overcome the world and the cross. He could have victoriously led His Church on an undefeatable crusade and totally defeated all evil and all notions or doubts concerning His resurrection.

Instead we find a handful of  His Apostles standing and watching Him ascend into the heavens and these were joined by two angels in white apparel (see Acts1:9-11), asking them “Why stand ye gazing up into heaven?” Had not the Lord given them a commandment to take the gospel to the world? Why were they simply standing there? What would you have done?

Perhaps it is a mute point, however have you ever wondered what it would have been like had He stayed? For Him, the battle had been won! For Him, He was totally victorious! We had crucified the very God and He had returned to show He was very much alive! Perhaps the answer is contained in some of His earliest words to His Apostles, when he said in Matthew 10:7, “Go, preach, saying the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” He had spent three years preparing his Apostles for this moment and had already given them their commandments. It was a fulfillment of the first two commandments: Love God and Love your fellowman.

Message 26:1, “….for no greater responsibility was ever placed upon man than taking the gospel to the nations of the earth in it’s purity..”

From Bro. Norm

In the Book of Jacob in the Record of Nephites, chapter 1:5 it was said, “Because of faith and great anxiety, it truly had been made manifest unto us concerning our people, what things should happen to them.”  I could word that slightly different for today. I could say, because we love God and have faith in His Word; we share a concern for their welfare. Did not God say to love one another?  As we grow in the knowledge of the Lord; we also understand the things that God has promised will happen to this world and those who live in it. It is also our desire that none are lost. Because we love our brothers and sisters; we also have anxiousness for them as well. We love, therefore we are concerned. It is one thing to be concerned, and quite another to do something about it. Our concern should be a call to action within ourselves.

The Record of Nephites, Book of Jacob, chapter one, verse seven tells us, “Wherefore we labored diligently among our people, that we might persuade them to come unto Christ, and partake of the goodness of God…” In short: we labor because we love and true love is the love of God and for God.

From Br. Norm

The Lord Jesus commanded his Apostles in Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore, and teach…….”, and continued in verse 20, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”  Jesus Christ wanted his Apostles to teach and that was their first responsibility; not to preach or any other thing. I am amazed at the lack of understanding among people in the ministry concerning this subject. Ministers of the Gospel love to preach, but few like to teach, yet that is what is most needful and commanded of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Record of Nephites, the book of Jacob 1:19, tells us, “…taking upon the responsibility of the sins of the people upon our own heads, if we did not teach them the word of God with all diligence.”  Again we find it a responsibility of importance to teach the word of God.

In Message 9:4 was plain in its instruction saying, “But remember, this work is sacred, the work that you shall do. Therefore, be humble in all that you do and say, for God looks upon the heart, and only the pure in heart are acceptable to Him. By your lives and by your teaching you must prepare a people who shall be worthy to meet Christ at his coming.”  Did you notice that it is a responsibility to teach and prepare a people through teaching for the Lord’s coming? Did you notice that was not only Christ’s first commandment, but also one of the first things commanded in the Word of the Lord brought to mankind through the Elijah Message?

See Second Corinthians 1:21-22, “Now he which stablish us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God. Who hath sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” Established by what we have been taught that the Holy Spirit may bring it to mind and sealed it in our foreheads that we might have the mark of the Lord in our heads and our hands, because we obey and do the work of the Lord which is in our heads.

“ What have I done?

This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. I write to you this day with love in my heart and the desire to serve the Lord. I tell myself that every day. Then I ask myself. What have I done to get the word of God to the people? We read and study the word of God but we keep it among ourselves. That is not what God commanded us to do. He said to take His word to the World.

Matt.28:18 & 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all Nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

He called us to take His gospel to the world, to our friends and neighbors, to every soul. We pray for the return of the Messenger but what have we done with what we have?

Msg. 83:17. This is the Midnight Cry. Come, join ye to the rest and peace the Lord can give. Go ye to meet the Lord-in service to the people. Your reward shall be sure.

Msg. 22:18. Oh man, that profess the name of the Lord, remember the eyes of the Lord are upon you: you cannot continue in your unrighteous ways before the Lord your who has created thee. He is long suffering and full of mercy, but He will reward thee as thy works will be.

Msg. 81:9. Add to your faith knowledge, wisdom and obedience in all things, hope in eternal salvation,

Msg. 46:8. This is a day of haste when my work must be done. Those that will heed and obey I will bless, those that will not will loose in the end. Some have grieved me because of man’s traditions, hardness of heart and sin, causing my work to suffer. Some will yet repent while others will go to destruction. Those that do not defend this cause have no part in this work. Let them know they must repent to do my will. Be watchful for it is my voice they oppose, and my design they deny. In their hearts they have rejected the message I have brought from time to time and they are not willing to be directed by mine angel I have sent.

Msg. 81:30. Let the work continue everywhere, far and near. Let all take courage for the Lord has sent me. I am your fellow servant. I bring the warning of Christ coming and instructions of His will to the Church.

Msg. 46:10. “Blessed are the meek and all those that consecrate themselves unto Me. I will be with them, saith your Lord, and stand you in holy places, protecting you when the great indignation cometh. You shall be called mine when I make up my jewels.”

Please read that verse again very slow and listen to what the Lord is saying to us. There is a warning and there is a promises and if we are not doing His will we will loose. Let us move this day for the Lord. Remember the Lord said that no man know the day or the hour the Lord will come. When will you draw your last berth?

Msg. 46:9. Yea behold, I forgive those that repent and walk humbly before me. Yea, my sheep know my voice and they will hear when I call upon them. How is it that some say they love me, yet deny and oppose my design? Know ye not that I know your thoughts and intents of your heart? Why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things I say? Verily, I say not all such shall enter my rest: for in their traditions they have gone astray. They shall not have voice or vote in my work of the Church of Christ.

Msg. 81:12. Fear not what man may say of you and your work. There are those when they hear will go all the way with you and the Message I bring.

Msg. 82:17. Peace like a river of pure waters will flow to all the faithful that heed and obey. Give to them the words I bring. Let gladness and peace in God be in your hearts and the oppressors will fade away. 18. Seek to save. Seek to remove the doubts, lest it destroy the doubter.

Msg. 88:36. Satan knows his time is short and he will work to destroy all that he can. He will work to hinder and deceive and lay stumbling blocks for mankind to fall over. He will puff up in pride and he will discourage in hope, and hinder the faith of many if you do not watch and pray. Have faith in the words of the prophets and the Lord and what I bring and he will not have power over you. 37. Therefore come against him, break his yoke by true belief and study the word-obey the Lord’s Spirit and make ready.

Msg. 88:25. Be glad and rejoice ye wise men, ye that claim to be leaders, obey and your work will come higher in greatness if you heed what I have to say.

Msg. 113: 3&4. This Message is to the appointed and anointed ones of this work to be taken to all the world. All that hear and obey will find peace to their souls. My message is one of love to all that obey it. (4.) The Lord Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. He is the Savior, Redeemer and King of all mankind. All that hear and obey have right to the Tree of Life and Eternity. His Glory shall overshadow them.

Msg.105:13. To My servants, saith the Lord, come together in love, open the way, hear the Words I send by My Messenger, Obey them and it will be well with you.

We can walk around with a million dollars in our pockets and if we don’t use it to help other people what good is it? Now you just think of what God has put in our pockets. Are we going to give it to the people, or keep it in our pockets? What are we going to do? Give and live or keep it and die. Its our choice, God want force us. But He said that He would require it of us.

May the spirit of Christ touch each heart and cause an awaking to Gods commands.

What have I done?

Yours in Christ,

Apostle Larry T. Gosier Williams.

Message 107:2-3

“The hearts that are humble will hear the call of God to be up and doing in this work of hope and salvation. There is much to be accomplished. The power of the adversary has enthroned his influence in the minds of many, ruining the lives of those that will not learn truth and come to doctrine.”

The Devil will work very hard to pull as many people away from God as he can.  It is up to us to not listen to his whisperings, with the help of God. Those that are humble and obey God will be blessed for the work that they will do.  The more work we do for God with humility, the more blessed we will become.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. ”

In our search for the truth, we must be careful of who we listen to.  There are many people who are doing their best to follow God, but if someone’s actions or words do not follow the teachings of God, we must not listen to them.  There will be many people who say they are following God and doing his work, but if listen and watch closely, they are not preaching the word of God.  Only follow a man as long as he follows God. If a person that you looked up to turns from God and starts to wonder away, you need to stop listing to them.  I know it is hard, but it is better to lose that person then you salvation.

Message 82:5-10

“Be faithful and the word shall deliver you and all the faithful but to those that doubt and reject shall not be there. They that deny and reject my words are as clouds without water, empty vessels. How good and great of vessels of honor could have been for those that once were filled with the gift of this work—but now turn from it. And they choose darkness rather than light. Hence let them be released of their charge and responsibility. Remember the day comes when there will be no more evil in all the land of God’s people. For peace and tranquility will be serene there. Where are those with patience that believe in God’s words and plan? Blessed are all those that defend this cause believing all the words I bring. Truth shall live and bring to naught all error. Shape your lives by the words I bring to you and it will be well with you.  There are those that are traitors to this work, they have no part in the work of the Lord.”

God has a plan. It is not for us to guess when and how that plan will take place.  It is our responsibility to serve God to the best of our ability.  We might think that it is time for the plan to take place, but we have to wait for God.  We need to stand up for what we believe.  We can not allow people who talk a good talk, but do not act according to the way of God influence us. If people can not wait for God and go out on their own, they have left God’s church and become empty inside.

Message 87:15

“When the storms and wars do their sweeping as necessary evils in destruction, the people become humble and learn to inquire of the Lord. Let the standard be found among you, in the Church of Christ, with the Elijah Message, the words I bring, the gospel of hope and salvation, the words of life, deliverance for mankind.”

As things become more difficult in the upcoming days, we have to hold to the standard.  We can not bend to rod of iron.  The world will be looking for God, it is up to us to deliver the truth.  We have to be ready and prepared to share the truth.  We can not wait till it happens or we will be left behind.

1st Timothy 4:12:14

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”

It is important that we keep our promise to God. To love him and to serve him.  By doing that we have to obey his commandments. We have to follow his commandments until Jesus comes back.  That includes keeping the true gospel of Christ correct and unaltered.  It is God’s church, not ours, we can’t change the rules for our gain.
